Christine McVie expressed doubts about Fleetwood Mac ever touring again in a new interview.

Speaking with BBC Radio 2 (as transcribed by Ultimate Classic Rock), McVie said when asked of the band's post-coronavirus touring plans, "That’s an impossible question to even answer. If we do, it would be without John [McVie] and without Stevie [Nicks], I think. I think I’m getting a bit too old for it now – especially having had a year off. I don’t know if I could get myself back into it again."

Regarding John McVie, Christine said he was "...feeling a little bit frail. He’s fine, but he just hasn’t got the heart for it anymore. He wants to get on his boat." She also added, "You reach a certain age where you go, ‘Hey, I’m not going to bust a gut doing this anymore.'" While she mentioned that Mick Fleetwood would tour again "in a lightning strike," Christine ruled out any touring whatsoever in 2021.

While Christine McVie didn't offer any reasoning Nicks wouldn't want to tour, the double-Rock Hall inductee has been very vocal about her fear of contracting COVID-19. Nicks has shared multiple journal entries about the topic. In July 2020, Nicks wrote, "In order for us all to get back to our former lives — we must all change into spiritual warriors. We must make it our mission to fight the virus; otherwise there is nothing left."

In August 2020, Nicks referred to the pandemic as "a real 'American Horror Story'" and wrote, "If I get it, I will probably never sing again. Put me on a ventilator and I will be hoarse for the rest of my life -- I don't have much time...I am 72 years old."
