The Who and their wild shenanigans are nearly as iconic as the music they made as evident from a new story that surfaced via some unpublished notes from John Entwistle while he was writing his memoirs.

The notes were obtained by U.K.'s Daily Star, and they detail a time when Entwistle and Keith Moon were suspected of kidnapping because of a weird, random prank. Apparently, The Who's rhythm section bought a pair of inflatable legs, and Entwistle propped them outside of the window of his Bentley. He and Moon proceeded to drive around Newcastle while Moon made "screaming girlie noises."

Police would eventually catch up with Entwistle and Moon that evening after a show they had in Newcastle. Entwistle's notes read, "After the show at Paisley Ice Rink, two policemen ask me if I am Mr. John Entwistle, owner of the Bentley. A policewoman has reported a woman in distress. We are escorted to the hotel where Keith has arranged the legs sticking out of the bath with a blanket over a pillow. The police are much relieved after they nervously remove the blanket. We chat to the police who are now very friendly."

Much like an episode of Three's Company, it was all a misunderstanding!
