It was once just an iconic grunge-era song of the 90's. Now it's being hailed as the "most iconic song ever", by one scientist. The Fiat car company commissioned Dr. Mick Grierson to find a song worthy of their new campaign ad. Grierson pulled all the top songs from publications like Rolling Stone magazine, and put them to the test. That test included a myriad of categories by which to test each song. Song key, number of beats per minute, chord variety, and lyrical content were all analyzed. And Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit came out on top.

Runners up included Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, and U2's One.

The new Fiat model will be launched, reportedly with a cover version of the Nirvana original. Check out the details.
