The Doors' fourth studio album, The Soft Parade, turns 50 today (July 18), and to celebrate, details on its reissue were released.
Available as a 3CD/1LP set, the reissue of The Soft Parade comes out October 18 featuring over a dozen unreleased songs, including a rendition of "Roadhouse Blues" with Ray Manzarek on vocals which is now available on major streaming services.
That version of "Roadhouse Blues" was part of a three-song studio rehearsal of “(You Need Meat) Don’t Go No Further” and “I’m Your Doctor,” all of which had Manzarek on vocals. These three tracks contain new bass recordings from Stone Temple Pilots' Robert DeLeo, who played with Robby Krieger and John Densmore at a 2016 tribute show after Manzarek's passing from cancer.
