The Doobie Brothers take a break from their summer tour with Chicago this weekend to play Saturday (July 15) as the Classic West festival at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium.

The group will share a bill with the Eagles and Steely Dan, but the Doobies' John McFee tells us that his band won't have much time to stick around and enjoy the other acts since it has to be back with Chicago immediately for a Sunday (July 16) show in suburban Detroit:

"It's going to be a bit of a, we're barely able to be there. We're really having to charter a jet to fly in and out and get from the show before it to the show after it, so not gonna be a whole lot of a chance to probably hear the other groups, unfortunately. But I really wish I could stick around...There's a lot of interconnectedness. I wish I could stick around and see the whole two days' worth."

Fleetwood Mac, Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire are playing on Sunday (July 16) as part of the festival.

McFee says the Doobies, who are currently working on a new album, will have a little more time to enjoy themselves during the Classic East weekend, which takes place July 29-30 at Citi Field in New York.
