Ann and Nancy Wilson have thankfully reconciled. The sisters famously had quite a falling out following an incident in 2016, when Ann's husband, Dean Wetter, was arrested after he assaulted Nancy's then 16-year-old twin sons backstage at a Heart show.
However, in a new feature from The Washington Post, tensions were so high that "sanctuary zones" were created backstage. These "sanctuary zones" were separate areas backstage for Ann and Nancy, where their respective husbands, managers and makeup artists were not allowed in the opposing Wilson's area. These areas were so official that they were drawn up in a contract.
While these "sanctuary zones" are still included in tour contracts, Ann and Nancy have basically ignored them now. Both referred to them as "unnecessary." Wetter, though, apparently still abides by them in a matter of sorts.
The Washington Post noted that at a recent show in Tampa, "Wetter hung back on Ann's tour bus but came out to watch the show from the soundboard." The outlet said he was "unrepentant" in a Zoom interview regarding his previous violent actions toward Nancy's sons. Wetter was quoted saying about the sisters' relationship, "I don't want to be a part of manipulating some fairy tale relationship or being a part of it. If they want to talk to each other, they totally can."
Despite some apparent tension surrounding Wetter, Ann and Nancy have clearly decided to move forward together. Understandably, fans are thrilled and so are concert promoters. Heart has a large slate of tour dates ahead of them in 2024. Below is the current list of Heart shows for this year.
