Beatles Guitar Appraised for Over $500K on ‘Antiques Roadshow’

A guitar once owned by John Lennon and George Harrison has been appraised for over $500,000 dollars on BBC's Antiques Roadshow.

Per BBC, the guitar is now owned by a man named Ray who was once a session musician for Handmade Films, the production company founded by Harrison. The fretless guitar was made by Bartell's of California and given to Lennon who then gave it to Harrison who then gave it to Ray following a recording session.

"I played a few notes and he said, 'Yeah, you're definitely getting more out of it than I am. It's doing better for you, why don't you have it.'" said Ray.

Ray then brought the guitar, along with a photo of it within Harrison's guitar collection, to Antiques Roadshow's Jon Baddeley who appraised the guitar between £300,000 and £400,000 ($383,140 and $510,854 USD.) Baddeley said of the guitar, "I think in 25 years it's by far the most expensive thing I've ever seen."
