Over the course of his career, Jimmy Page, who celebrates his birthday today (January 9), has proven he’s one of the most gifted people to ever pick up a guitar. He’s also proven to be one of the coolest figures in rock history.

But one thing that can get lost in his mystique at times is the fact that he, too, is also a fan.  He loves rock n’ roll and the blues, and without it, he’d likely cease to exist.

Looking for proof?  Watch this scene from 2008’s It Might Get Loud.  Watch the joy that rushes to his face while playing air guitar to Link Wray’s “Rumble” and listening to Muddy Waters’s “I Can’t Be Satisfied.”

How many times have you done the same to “Whole Lotta Love” or “Good Times Bad Times” or any other Led Zeppelin classic?  Too many times to count for this writer.

Never forget this comforting thought:  Some of the best musicians are usually also the biggest fans.

(Sir Paul McCartney inducting Foo Fighters? C'mon now!) She's also well-versed in etiquette and extraordinarily nice. #TransRightsAreHumanRights
