Paul Simon was one of many artists who announced their retirement from the road this year, and the final show of his “Homeward Bound” farewell tour will appropriately find him homeward bound.

Per Simon’s Facebook page, the iconic singer-songwriter will be wrapping up his farewell tour at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, N.Y. on Saturday, September 22.  Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 29, at 10 AM ET at PaulSimonInThePark.com.

There was heavy speculation that Simon’s final show would be in Central Park, a nod to the legendary 1981 reunion concert with Art Garfunkel.  However, how poetic is it for Simon to literally go back to his hometown for his final show.  Couldn’t ask for a better finale if we tried.
