What's in a name?  Well...frankly, in the entertainment world, everything.

In the realm of classic rock, stage names liter the entire landscape, and few are quite as iconic that the monosyllabic nickname for today's birthday boy, Gordon Sumner, AKA:  Sting!

To paraphrase an awesome bit from a Dana Carvey stand-up special, the guy named himself a present-tense verb.  ("He's not 'Stung,' and he's not 'Stinging!'")  How cool is that?!

This got us wondering about all of our other favorite stage names, which then led us to the poll below, because who doesn't love a good battle in honor of a music legend's birthday.

Check out our poll below, and vote for who you think has the best stage name.

Don't see your pick?  Vote "other," and feel free to berate us in the comments below.  We think Sting would've wanted it that way.
