MEET TATE SOUTH
Tate South has been talking and playing music on the radio since the age of 15. As a listener, he always felt a deep connection with the people he heard on the air. He always thought that it was a rewarding experience to connect with listeners and help make their day a little brighter with a friendly word or their favorite song.
After many years in Atlanta, and a couple in Memphis, Tate fell in love with Las Vegas and has called it home for more than 12 years. Sin City has a lot of events and experiences that you can’t get anywhere else, which is a major reason why he loves Vegas living. Yes, it’s hot but at least it’s not cold, Tate says.
He’s a dog dad and can’t live without his pups. Tate’s dogs, Tweek and Taffy, were adopted from the NSPCA. Tweek is a Chihuahua Terrier mix and Taffy is a Chihuahua Dachshund “long-haired Chiweenie.” Dog treats and long walks through the park are a must.
In his free time, Tate likes to hang out around the pool with friends and trying new restaurants.
You can catch him either cooking, sleeping or creating stained glass art. Creating art is very relaxing for him.
Tate was also inducted to the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2013. You can hear him on 96.3 KKLZ on Saturday nights from 8 p.m. – 12 p.m.
