What did you buy with your first big check from working a "real" job? A story was trending over the weekend with celebrities talking about what they bought when they got their first "real" check and you might be a little surprised!
The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know what you bought with your first "real" check. Was it a wallet? Was it a purse? Was it a fancy dinner at your favorite restaurant?
When Carla Rea got her first "real" paycheck from doing comedy, she wanted to commemorate her first paid week as a professional comedian with something to remember it by. She bought a very cool (and not cheap) Hamilton Ventura watch. This was a gift she has had her eyes on for years. It was 400 dollars at that time and she still has it. It cost far more than her first paid week, 150 dollars, as a working comedian. Whenever she wears it, or even sees it, she's reminded of that first week. Seeing the watch also reminds her that she is still able to do what she loves, and still loves which is comedy! It's her comfortable place.
On the other hand, Mike O'Brian, finally bought himself a bedroom set. Nothing expensive, but in the past it was only a box spring and mattress on the floor. Or if memory serves correctly someone gave Mike the bedroom set. This time he could actually buy something on his own.
Unless you're very disciplined, the first thing you probably did with your first big paycheck was buy something. Sometimes the sought out gift is something big and sometimes it's very small.
