Mark it on the calendar because today is very special...especially if you love cereal! That's why we are giving you the Top 5 cereals to celebrate National Cereal Day today. That's the reason The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to talk about cereal this morning. What was your favorite cereal as a kid. Is it still your favorite or have you moved on to a more grownup brand?

Mike O'Brian mentioned Sugar Frosted Flakes as his favorite kid cereal. On the other hand Carla Rea favored Rice Krispies. Both agreed on Raisin Bran as their go to cereal as adults.

It seems that most of the listeners that chimed in did indeed have their favorite. However, we did notice that those who called in had moved on to a more adult brand. For example, the one woman who was enamored with Boo Berry cereal. Blue berry flavored that actually tuned your milk "blue"!

It was a part of a line of "monster" branded cereals at the time. It also featured Franken Berry, Count Chocula.  The woman bought them for her kids thinking they would love it. After a taste test as an adult, she admitted they were awful and tasted like cardboard!

A lot of listeners made the same statement that their favorite cereal was good in a bowl of milk or grabbing a handful out of the box dry! Even as a kid, it was a true testament to your favorite brand that it was good either way.

But what are the best cereal brands to celebrate today? Although you can listen to the segment from this morning and enjoy. To find out what the Top 5 cereal brands, we did a little research and found out what they were. Just in case you decide to celebrate, scroll down to see what the Top 5 were and enjoy!
