It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Especially if you like train rides at night. The Boulder City Santa Express is back for the 2022 season. This family-friendly train ride lets guests experience all the magic of the holidays onboard and in their railyard event center.

Each train ride experience lasts a total of 90 minutes an includes all the Christmas fun for your family. They’ll take a ride in a vintage car, restored and decked out for the holidays.  There are options for an open-air car or an enclosed heated ones. If you do opt for the open-air car, Christmas pajamas are accepted and even encouraged. The 90-minute experience also include time in the Boulder City railyard event center with some goodies and fun with Santa. 

If you’re in the mood for something a little fancier or more exclusive, First Class tickets are available. This experience includes a separate car and a gift bag for guests. Gift bag contents are different for adults and children (check out the list below to see what’s included). VIP Guests can choose between a dining car with tables or an open-air car with bench seating.

First Class Tickets also include access to a VIP service tent in Santa’s Train Yard. Table services and lots of extras are included with this option. These tickets are not available at the door. They must be purchased online, so plan ahead!

Tickets start at $30 per Adult seat or $25 per Child seat. If you have a lap kiddo, they ride free. First Class (VIP) dining car seats can be purchased for $45 per child (12 and under) or $50 per adult. All tickets must be purchased ahead of time as seats are assigned. All proceeds help support the state railroad museum in Boulder City.

Tickets for the Boulder City Santa Express sell out quickly, so get yours early (buy them here)! Here’s some things to know before you go.

  • There's Storytime On The Train

  • Cookies and Hot Chocolate Will Be Served

    When the Santa Express lands at the Railyard Event Center, guests get a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie from Chilly Jilly’z. Additional food is also available for purchase from Chilly Jilly’z.

  • Santa Will Be Waiting In The Railyard

  • It Will Be Cold, So Bundle Up!

    These train rides happen at night, so make sure you bundle up, especially if you opt for the open-air car. Christmas sweaters and pajamas are encouraged so bring out your Christmas cheer. Train rides are at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm most days of service.

  • First Class Tickets Include Special Gifts

    Not only do those first class tickets include a separate car and time in Santa’s Train Yard, but there are also gift bags. Gifts for adults include a 2022 logo mug for adults or a wooden train whistle and train ornament for the kiddos.

  • You Can Do Some Shopping At Santa's Gift Shop

    During their visit to the Railyard Event Center, guests can shop for holiday gifts like logo mugs, hats, whistles, patches, calendars, model railroad cars and more.

     

  • Limited Dates Means Limited Availability

    The Boulder City Santa Express doesn’t run every day, so there’s limited availability for tickets. And they always sell out, so get yours early! Here’s when the train is in service this year:

    • Nov. 25 and 26 (Friday and Saturday)
    • Dec. 2 and 3 (Friday and Saturday)
    • Dec. 9 and 10 (Friday and Saturday)
    • Dec. 16 and 17 (Friday and Saturday)
    • Dec. 20 and 21 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
