Here are five great UB40 jams to get your ready for their show!

  • 5) I Got You Babe

The band teamed up with Chrissie Hynde, lead singer of The Pretenders, and scored this Top 40 hit in 1985. It’s a cover of a #1 60s song by Sonny & Cher.

  • 4) Here I Am (Come And Take Me)

American soul singer Al Green made this song popular in the 1970s.  UB40 covered it in 1990 and took it to #7 on the USA pop chart.

  • 3) The Way You Do The Things You Do

UB40 went back to the classic Motown years of the 60s and covered this song made famous by The Temptations.  UB40’s version reached #6 in 1990.

  • 2) Red Red Wine

This song was originally written and recorded by Neil Diamond.  His version is very different than the UB40 version, which was originally released here in the USA in 1983, barely managing to crack the Top 40.  Five years later, after a live performance at Nelson Mandela’s 70th Birthday Concert, the UB40 single gained renewed interest and ended up going to #1 in October of 1988.

  • 1) (I Can't Help) Falling In Love With You

Elvis Presley spent 4 weeks at #1 with this smash from his album Blue Hawaii.  UB40 was even more successful with their version, topping the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks during the summer of 1993.
