Project H2O came to a close this past week, and it was another year of heartfelt charity, selfless donations and a blanket of support for the community.

This year, Mike & Carla's Project H2O raised over 10,000 water bottle donations for the Salvation Army. Each year, the 96.3 KKLZ family gets together to raise awareness for the need of water donations within our Las Vegas community.

Thank you to our sponsors! Port of Subs for another stellar year. Our Port of Subs and KKLZ partnership allowed us to set up donation drop-off locations throughout the city. We met so many listeners, who graciously dropped off donations. We laughed, gave away great prizes and just enjoyed the day of giving back.

Port of Subs also donated nearly 100 cases of water. Along with that, we had tons of local leaders and businesses also donate cases of water during our drop-off remotes and our Project H2O water party. A big shoutout to Sam & Ash for also donating water to this year's Project H2O.

Thank You Port of Subs For Being a Key Partner in Mike & Carla's Project H2O

Mike had an amazing time during his remote at Port of Subs. We love their sandwiches and their hometown pride for Nevada. Thank you again for your support during Project H2O.<br>

The remotes were an absolute blast. Plus, we even catered Port of Subs during our Project H2O Party!

The Reason For Mike & Carla's Project H2O

Every year, we're quite frankly shocked at the amount of heat-related deaths that happen in the Las Vegas valley. Whether it's dehydration, exposure to heat or more, unnecessary tragedy happens annually due to our brutal heat.

In 2023 alone, Clark County recorded over 300 heat-related deaths. Other factors that were involved with those deaths include substance use and underlying health conditions, according to Channel 3 (KSNV-TV).

Cooling stations are vital to help protect our most vulnerable populations from being exposed to heat stroke and heat exhaustion. At these cooling stations and throughout the social services that Salvation Army provides, this is where the water is dispersed throughout the community.

Once again, we thank everyone who is part of this annual effort to help our Las Vegas community battle this extreme heat.

We also want to send our heartfelt gratitude to the Salvation Army of Southern Nevada for their continued partnership.

And last but not least -- thank YOU to our lovely KKLZers. Without your donations, this wouldn't be possible!

We love our KKLZ family. We make the best memories, eat each other's baked goods and just have a ball when we're together.
