Our Project: H2O Party Ends With A Sensational Amount Of Donations

This donation was mind-blowing.

Today was the last day for our Port of Subs party that Mike and Carla have been hosting for the past two weeks. However, these are not regular radio parties. Since May 16, Mike and Carla (and the whole KKLZ crew, of course) have been collecting cases of water to help our friends at The Salvation Army.

Today, we received 30 cases of water! Making this one of the most successful drop-off locations throughout our campaign.

The Las Vegas heat is no joke. And during summer, the heat can turn deadly.

According to a study published in the International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, there were 437 heat-related deaths in Las Vegas between 2007-2016. Researchers found that people 50 years old and older were the most vulnerable population, and 76% of deaths were associated with preexisting heart disease.

This disturbing trend will only get worse as the heat index rises, which makes Mike's and Carla's mission even more important. Friday before 10 a.m.  is the LAST day for Project:H2O.

The entire KKLZ team had our BIG Project: H2O water donation party last Saturday, May 21, at the Beasley Broadcast Group building. A big thank you if you were able to for come out and donate. We had a lot of fun and can’t wait to help our neighbors with The Salvation Army.
