How Mike O’Brian Spent His Summer Vacation In Belize

Last year, my wife and I started talking about how she would like to spend her upcoming birthday the following year. We talked about traveling, but to where? And would she want to bring the entire family with us? We’re talking a total of 14 people, 9 adults and 5 grandchildren.

Once place that kept popping up in conversation was Belize. We had talked to friends who had already been there and they all talked about how nice it was, tropical, and quite the adventure.

As the conversation continue over the next couple of weeks, it was decided we would go to Belize to celebrate her birthday and indeed, invite the entire family to come along and celebrate Jodi’s birthday!

The next step was to find a place to stay that would house all of us comfortably and feature all the amenities we were looking for. After researching and going through a lot of reviews, Jodi and I found Villa Turguesa in San Pedro, Belize.

The place was perfect, had an “infinity” pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea, very private, all of us would have our own rooms and with a nice little bar/restaurant right next store, we were in business. One side note we didn’t realize at the time that this place was once owned by John McAfee, which is a totally different story all together!

So, all the arrangements we’re made and the countdown began! Once the time was here, we all met up in Dallas for our flight off to paradise. It was a great week…everyone had a great time and it was truly a vacation of a lifetime for all of us!

Between golf carting around San Pedro to see the sights to spending the day on a chartered catamaran to sail, snorkel, and swim with the sharks, it was truly a perfect “family” vacation and a great way to celebrate Jodi’s birthday!
