Lenny Kravitz was just crowned a fashion icon. The singer-songwriter and actor received the coveted fashion icon award this month at the 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards. And it's no surprise. Kravitz has been turning heads with is style, both in fashion and music, for three decades. His first moments in the spotlight were in 1989. That was the year he released his first album, Let Love Rule and collaborated with Madonna on the single Justify My Love.
Since then, Lenny Kravitz has been one of those celebrities that the paparazzi loves to follow. Probably because there's always sure to be a photo-worthy ensemble worn by the star. And Kravitz is as eclectic with his style as he is with his music. He combines soul, rhythm and blues and reggae with hard and psychedelic rock in his songs. In his fashion, he's almost made his own genre. Most often a cross between Boho Chic and Fashion Metro.
Lenny Kravitz will be adding his recently-acquired Fashion Icon Award to an already full shelf. If you remember, he broke a record back in 2002 for the most wins in a single category at the Grammy Awards. That was the year he picked up his fourth consecutive Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. He also won Best International Male in 2008 at the Zebrik Music Awards. And the International Male Solo Artist award in 1994 at the Brit Awards. And let's not forget about the MTV Video Music Award in 1993 for Are You Gonna Go My Way (wikipedia.com).
And that's just a few of the awards he's won. And he's been nominated for countless others. Lenny Kravitz has not only dominated the music and fashion industry. But he's also made a name for himself in the acting world. His most notable role being Cinna in the Hunger Games movies.
Lenny Kravitz was introduced by Bradley Cooper at this year's CFDA Fashion Awards.
