Uncle Kracker just dropped a new album and is celebrating with a supporting tour around North America. The tour will kick off on April 1, 2025 in Florida with the last performance in Canada on July 26. It will include stops in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia.

Uncle Kracker's Pre-Tour Stop In Vegas

Before embarking on his 2025 tour of North America, Uncle Kracker, born Matthew Shafer, will make a stop in Las Vegas. He will do a single performance at the Veil Pavilion at Silverton Casino on Friday, March 14. The venue is intimate enough that guests can get cozy with the "Follow Me" singer, with a laid-back feel that is perfect for Shafer's repertoire.

Uncle Kracker Dropped New Album In 2024

Besides his classic hits, including "Follow Me" and "Drift Away", Shafer will pull other songs from his six studio albums. Including the newest one, Coffee & Beer, released in July of 2024. The album, reviewed by Riff Magazine as being a deliverer of "everyman anthems", is the first for Shafer since 2012. According to this review, Shafer hasn't lost his touch in the 13-year hiatus. Claiming the album has the same ingredients that went into the artist's two Top 10 hits.

The album's title track is full-on country. Both with its guitar-picking instrumentation and its lyrics. Which mentions freedom, God and fishing with grandpa.

Shafer doesn't make the whole album pure country, though. There's rock influence, acoustic ballads, even a tropical vibe in the song "Beach Chair".

Shafer has always been known for his "just drinking a beer after a long day" style of music. And that will be the vibe at the Veil Pavilion when Shafer comes to town. Laid back, easy-going and feel-good music that is sure to have guests making new friends in the audience.

Tickets for Uncle Kracker start at $85 for general admission. Seating is first-come, first-served with doors opening at 7pm and the show starting at 8pm.

5 Artists Who Haven’t Sold Their Catalog

Artists who haven't sold their catalog are seemingly a smaller number with every passing year. After all, there have been numerous artists in recent years who have sold their music catalog and other properties for a massive price tag.

In 2024, there four major catalog sales. In February, Rod Steward sold his catalog to Irving Azoff's Iconic Artists Group for $100 million. In June 2023, Billboardreported Stewart was close to a catalog deal with Hipgnosis. Sale talks went on for two years only for Stewart to back out.

In April, KISS sold its catalog, name, logo and makeup rights to Pophouse for a reported $300 million. Pophouse, a Swedish entertainment and music investment firm, already had a relationship with the band and is the creative force behind the creation of the KISS Avatars.

Pink Floyd sold their recorded rights to Sony for $400 million in October. The deal also included the band's name and the band's "likeness," but the band still retained their songwriting rights.

And then, there's the sale of Queen's catalog. In June, the legendary band sold their catalog to Sony Music for a staggering $1.27 billion. The Queen/Sony catalog deal omits revenue rights for live performances, which will be retained by Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Needless to say, an artist has the potential to set their family up for multiple generations with the strategic sale of their catalog. However, there are still some artists who've opted to not sell (for now). Here are five artists who haven't sold their catalog.
