Election Day Fun: Many Would Sell Their Vote And Others Prefer A Pet-Owning President
Election Day! People are going to the polls today. Although I think the only “polling place” some will visit today is the one with a champagne room. But, hey – have fun!
Question: Would you sell your vote? For how much? 34% of people say they would sell their vote, but they’d have to get at least a certain amount for it. And 27% would prefer a president who’s a pet owner.
Random Election Day Polls
Today is Election Day, and you better be voting, because according to the polls, it’s that close. And yes – your vote could decide the whole thing. Here are some other random facts for you.
One poll says 21% of Americans say they’ve gotten into an argument over politics with a friend or family member within the past year. Not surprising. Another 9% have argued with a coworker. A small percentage of 6%, have argued with their own spouse or partner.
Do you regret how you voted in the past? 15% of people say they regret how they voted in a previous election, and Boomers and Millennials are the two generations more likely to have regrets. And 12% of people say it’s “very likely” or “somewhat likely” that someday they will regret their vote in THIS year’s election, with men more likely to say that than women.
Is this you? An online poll asked people if they’d be willing to sell their vote. 34% said NO. They want to vote, no matter the cost. But a different 34% said they WOULD sell their vote. But – they’d have to get at least $5,000 for it. About 12% said they’d do it for $1,000 to $5,000. And another 20% said they’d sell their vote for ANY amount. This kind of scares me.

Would you give up your right to vote, in exchange for eternal luck? This might not be a tough one, considering the times we’re living in.? A Reddit poll had 94% of people saying YES! They would hand it over for good luck the rest of their lives. Not surprising on that.
This is an interesting one. People were asked what they thought were the most important traits in a president. The Top five: Their decision-making abilities, leadership skills, honesty, mental health, and vision for America’s future.
Others important traits included their integrity, intelligence, and their ability to stay calm under pressure. The LEAST important was their personal wealth, and their physical attractiveness. And – love this – 27% of those polled would prefer a president who’s a pet owner. YES!
