Haunted Las Vegas Hotels Are Everywhere In The City
What do you think of when you think of Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World? You probably think glittering lights, huge fun-filled casinos, dance clubs, partying, shopping – and the biggest shows, and entertainers in the world!
Now look beyond the glitz and glamour. There is a dark, and mysterious side to Las Vegas, that you should know about, and possibly even explore.
Las Vegas is home to quite a few haunted hotels. And each one has its own story, and, well – ghostly residents, and visitors.
Here Are A Few Of The Most Haunted Las Vegas Hotels
These are some of the most haunted hotels in Las Vegas, that just might make the hair on your neck stand up. If nothing else, they’ll give you a memorable stay in Vegas. Take a chance – see what’s lurking in the shadows of some of these sin city hotels.
- Westgate Hotel: The Westgate is located just off the Las Vegas strip. Guests of the hotel have reported seeing Elvis’ Presley’s ghost roaming the halls, and in their rooms. Some say they’ve even heard his music mysteriously playing. Elvis worked at the property when it was the International Hotel. But it makes you wonder if he really did leave the building.
- The Luxor: Ever since The Luxor broke ground in 1992, weird things were happening there. Three construction workers died when the hotel was being built, and two allegedly jumped to their death from the interior balconies. The Nile River Ride closed down after just a few years because people said they saw their ghosts while on the ride. Also – supposedly, The Luxor was built on a burial site that Vegas mobsters used. Because there were so few buildings at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, mobsters would bury the bodies there. And of course, pyramids were built to be tombs – so, many say they were just asking for trouble.
- Circus-Circus: This is a creepy one. Guests have reported really strange things happening in their rooms. One guest reported that the words “Help Me” were seen on a mirror, and other guests say they have heard those words being screamed. Room 123 is where a mother killed her young son. She and her son have reportedly been seen wandering the hotel. Three people who were killed in the kitchen many years ago, have also been seen by guests, and Circus-Circus staff.
- The Flamingo: It was Bugsy Siegel’s dream, and the Flamingo opened in 1946. It was the first luxury hotel on the very desolate Las Vegas Strip. Six months after the Flamingo opened, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel was shot to death. Hotel guests say Siegel’s spirit has never left the property. And many claim they have seen his ghost leaving the Presidential Suite.
- The Horseshoe (formerly Bally’s and MGM): In 1980 a horrible fire tore through what was the MGM Grand Hotel. 87 people perished. The tower where the fire happened is still a part of the new hotel. Guests have said they see unusual shadows in the hallways, and hear odd noises. Many have also reported furniture mysteriously moving around hotel rooms. For ghost hunters, the professionals say, the higher you go in the tower, the more the paranormal activity there is.
The Most Haunted Las Vegas Hotel That Spooked Me
I’ve stayed at all of them, and I will say this – there is a vibe at the Westgate. I’ve worked the stages at the entertainment venues, and I’ve stayed in the rooms on several occasions. No blue suede shoes, but there is definitely a vibe.
As in so many cases of ghosts, and paranormal activity, there is probably a logical explanation for all of the happenings at these haunted Las Vegas hotels. But who really knows?
