Aisha Tyler Coming To Las Vegas To Host Tyler Robinson Foundation Gala
Aisha Tyler is coming to Las Vegas, to host the Annual Tyler Robinson Foundation’s, ‘Rise Up’ Gala, on September 20th, at The Wynn. Along with her co-host, Joel McHale (another Talk Soup/The Soup veteran). Jimmy Kimmel, and Las Vegas’s own, Imagine Dragons.
The Tyler Robinson Foundation raises money to pay the expenses for families of critically ill children. Like rent, travel expenses for care, and much more.
We had a great time talking to Aisha Tyler on The Mike and Carla Morning Show, on 96.3 KKLZ, Las Vegas. Her career, which has been nothing short of AMAZING.
Aisha Tyler Is A Self-Proclaimed Workaholic
She’s a self-proclaimed “workaholic,” because she loves what she does.
It all started at Dartmouth College, where she co-founded and sang in the Dartmouth Rockapellas, an all-female a cappella group, devoted to spreading social awareness through music. So yes – she can also sing! After graduating, she just kept going.
Aisha Tyler hosted Talk Soup. a show that Greg Kinnear hosted for many years. You might remember that Tyler and Kinnear reunited on an episode of Friends. She talked to Mike and Carla about barely being able to make it through some scenes, because of David Schwimmer being so funny. She mentioned some bloopers from a scene – and they are hilarious. You can see them here.
Aisha is currently working on season 3 of ‘Criminal Minds, Evolution.’ It will start airing in the Fall. She’s also directing several episodes of the show this year. Directing is not new to her, either. She’s directed TV, music videos – what can’t she do? She talked to Mike and Carla about doing such a heavy show, and she has a healthy, and funny, take on it.
Aisha Tyler’s Roots Go Back To Comedy
She started as a comedian in San Francisco, back in the day. Carla talked to her about an old comedy club that she and Aisha both used to work. Robin Williams was also a regular there. The now defunct, but iconic, Holy City Zoo. It was quite the club, and she remembered it all too well.
Oh, and here’s another thing. She just launched a margarita company, It’s called Losophe (like the last part of philosophy). It is organic, and ready to drink. And Morty and Carla tried it – thumbs up! By the way, KKLZ/Vegas listeners can get a 15% discount if they use the code: staysinvegas
Don’t miss the Tyler Robinson Foundation, Rise Up Gala, with Aisha Tyler, Joel McHale, Jimmy Kimmel, Imagine Dragons, and more. September 20, at The Wynn.
