In Vegas, we love free. And it'll be a free night of big 80s KKLZ hits when Rick Springfield plays a free show here in Las Vegas Saturday, October 5th. This is great news if you missed Rick's show this past weekend in the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort.

This free Rick Springfield concert was announced this morning on social media by the Freemont Street Experience. The show will start at 9pm on the 1st Street Stage.

Although he's most known for his crush on "Jessie's Girl," Rick Springfield had so many more great 80s classics. Some of them you don't realize you know until you hear them. There was "Don't Talk to Strangers," "Affair of the Heart," and "Human Touch."

The 2024 Downtown Rocks Free Concert series has featured performances by Seether, Hoobastank, Soul Asylum, Boys Like Girls, Chris Janson, and Sebastian Bach from Skid Row. I'm crushed I missed that last one. "18 and Life" and "Youth Gone Wild" were staples of my high school mix tapes back in the day.

Still to come are free concerts from Common Kings, a reggae rock/pop band from Orange County, California. That show's coming up next week on August 31. Country star Joe Nichols plays Fremont Street September 7. Even if you're not a big country music fan, you should go. Joe does a killer cover of Sir Mixalot's "Baby Got Back." I'd personally go for that.

But we are pretty sure it's that free Rick Springfield concert that made you click... so here's the official announcement from Freemont Street Experience. If you're thinking of going, I'd get there plenty early. Rick's pretty well known for two things - really good live rock shows... and an insanely rabid passionate fan base. Rick Springfield fans will no doubt fly in from all over the world for this one.
