New Bridge Coming On 215 Beltway In West Las Vegas
Commuters traveling northbound on the 215 Beltway in Las Vegas have noticed construction has started just south of the Flamingo exit. What they’re seeing is a new project by the Clark County Department of Public Works (CCPW). The construction, which started in June of this year, is the first part of a bridge being built over the Beltway on Peace Way.
Details About The New Peace Way Bridge Over The 215 Beltway
The project involves a bridge that expands over the 215 on Peace Way. It will connect from Chessie Court on the east side of the 215 to Fort Apache on the west side. Fort Apache currently is a dead end when traveling eastbound on Peace Way, and Chessie Court is currently a corner-turn road in a residential area.
Besides the construction of the bridge over the 215 Beltway, the project has been funded for rehabilitation of the surrounding areas, according to a press release. That construction will stretch on Peace Way from Hualapai Way all the way to Cimmaron Road. The project is expected to take 365 days, giving it a projected completion of summer 2025.
The improvements scheduled for the road rehabilitation portion of the project include updating pavement. As well as updating current and implementing new curb and gutter, median, sidewalk, traffic signals, pavement markings, signing, street lighting, bridge lighting for under the 215 Beltway, bridge underdeck lighting, fencing, construction traffic control and other related items of work.

There will also be a stoplight built at Hualapai and Peace Way, which is presently just a 3-way stop with a stop sign for westbound traffic only. This addition will require those traveling north and south to get used to a new stop in that intersection, which currently has no disruption in traffic flow.
During the project, drivers will see the traditional lane restrictions or closures, depending on the stage of construction. And pedestrians will see limited usage for the sidewalks during the construction. Residents and commuters of the construction zones can expect work to be going on Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are advised to plan accordingly.
