Crystal Laramore, the Founder and Executive Director of Wheelchairs for Warriors, is on a mission to change lives—one custom wheelchair at a time.

For many veterans and first responders, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. Service-related injuries often leave them struggling with mobility, confined to standard-issue wheelchairs that fail to meet their needs. That’s where Wheelchairs for Warriors steps in. The organization designs and provides customized, high-performance wheelchairs tailored to each individual’s injuries, lifestyle, and goals—restoring the independence they deserve.

During the interview, Crystal shared both heartbreaking and inspiring stories of the heroes they’ve helped. She spoke of warriors who were once trapped in their homes, unable to perform simple tasks due to inadequate equipment. After receiving a custom wheelchair, these individuals regained their freedom—able to go outside, play with their children, and even pursue outdoor adventures again.

“We’re not just giving them wheelchairs,” Crystal said. “We’re giving them their lives back.”

The conversation turned emotional as Crystal highlighted the overwhelming need. The VA typically provides only the most basic wheelchairs, leaving many veterans without the mobility required to live fully. Wheelchairs for Warriors fills that gap, relying entirely on donations and community support to continue their life-changing work.

By the end of the episode, one thing was clear: This isn’t just about mobility—it’s about dignity, freedom, and honoring those who have sacrificed everything for us.
