It's happening fast in our city when it comes to sports. Now here comes news that there could be a new pro-hockey team on its way to Las Vegas.

According to a recent article in the Hockey News, Professional Women's Hockey League could land in Southern Nevada in the very near future.

Keep in mind that the league only has one season under it's belt, however, Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz had said in a recent interview, “We remain interested in the context of growing the game,”

New Pro Hockey Team Could Be On It's Way To Las Vegas

If it ever should happen, most fans would think that they would play at the Lee Family Forum in Henderson! It would be the perfect arena for the team as it is for the Silver Knights.

As it stands now, there are a total of only six teams in the league...much like it was in the early years of the NHL. Three teams from Canada and three from the United States.

Minnesota, New York, and Boston make up the teams from the U.S. and Canada is represented by Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa.

Out of the six, there are no teams west of the Mississippi...bringing the PWHL out to Southern Nevada would be a task, but well worth it. On the other hand, if they were to include Las Vegas, the league would have to definitely include another team out west.

They don't play a lot of games right now, but with expansion on the horizon, that would increase. According to the Victory Press, each team played 24 games in the first season that went from January to May.

Toronto seemed to be the team to beat after season one posting a 13-4-7 record. 13 wins, 4 overtime wins and 7 losses.

But let's see what happens moving forward to see if the PWHL does indeed come out and providing Southern Nevada with another professional hockey team!
