Best Life, a lifestyle magazine collaborated with career experts and staffing agencies to compile a list of the best skills to put on a resume that will help you stand out.

“By emphasizing these skills, candidates can not only distinguish themselves from others but also convey their readiness to contribute meaningfully to their prospective employers,” Caitlin Wehniainen, director of business development for the staffing agency On Cue Hire, told Best Life.

The outlet points out that decisions are “largely driven by data.” This means that analytical thinking or the ability to interpret that data and put it into good use is what they say is “indispensable.” They continue to say that “This skill enables you to interpret complex information, identify trends, and solve problems efficiently.” One of their experts said that employers value candidates who can bring clarity to data-driven projects and provide “actionable insights that drive business success.”

Other skills they highlight are writing and communication skills. They mention that conveying ideas clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, ensures that you can collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and customers.

In addition to these skills, they added that you should highlight your willingness to communicate often.

Many people define today’s work environment as fast-paced, and several of their experts have agreed that you should highlight your adaptability. “The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new challenges is crucial in today’s rapid-fire work environment,” one expert stated. “Being able to learn new skills, adjust, and adapt well is key,’ another expert added.

Though not a requirement for many jobs, knowing a foreign language wouldn’t hurt. They said it can help you stand out on your resume. Even if you won’t need that language in the workplace, they point out that it can help get you hired.
