Morning habits, and the way you start your day, are extremely important.

I do morning radio so consequently, I never get enough sleep. But the way I start my day is really important to the rest of my day. And so is the way you start yours.

Our morning habits are just that - habits. And we probably all need to break, and change some of them.

Bad Morning Habits You Probably Need To Stop

If you seem to be continuously waking up on the wrong side of the bed, it just might be your morning habits and rituals. Here are the ways you shouldn't start your day:

Don't wake up to an alarm. It causes anxiety immediately. Try something a little more soothing.  Like waking up to the RADIO! Ok, I might be biased. But radio - music - is much nicer to wake up to.

Don't try to start solving problems. You wake up groggy as it is. That's called sleep inertia and it can last for a bit.  So try to ease into your morning, and day, before you start trying to solve any real problems.

For the love of Pete - or whoever - don't start diving into emails! DO NOT open your inbox as soon as you wake up.  Again, it's immediate stress first thing in the morning, and you don't need that.

I know it's hard, but stop thinking about what went wrong yesterday. It's over. Try your best to start fresh.  Easy to say, right? It's okay to look back and reflect at some point, maybe just not right when you wake up.

Some Good Morning Habits That Might Lead To A Better Day Overall

Make a list, and focus on what you want to get done. It's a good way to organize your day, and your thoughts. Deep breathing and meditation is great. Just stopping to take a few deep breaths can help calm your mind, and set you up for a better day.

Try to start the day looking at something that makes you smile. Hang something in your bedroom that sparks a little bit of joy. A picture from a fun vacation, or a piece of art you really love. Visual reminders like that can put you in a better mood.

Move around! It doesn't have to be a full workout. Doesn't have to be burpees, or planks. Even some light stretching can help get your day started on the right foot.

We're all guilty of many of these habits - even myself. But these morning habit definitely seem easy enough to break, or change. And in this day and age, where people are stretched to their limit - anything helps!

Anger Management: 3 Cool Las Vegas Rage Rooms

We all get angry at times. But, how you manage that anger is what's important.

An Anger Management Hack

If you've ever done any therapy with a counselor, or a psychologist, you might already know this trick: Write a letter to the person who has hurt you, or made you angry - but don't mailing it. Just write.

Now the experts say it's also a good anger management hack. A study found that writing about your feelings can help. But writing about them, and then shredding it, works even better.

Life, in general, is hard these days. It's a literal pain in the ass at times! Financial frustrations, kids, family, an election around the corner. Which means political ads, and politicians getting on your last nerve!

Buy A Shredder

Angry? Go buy a shredder. It might just stop a November election-induced aneurysm. A new study found an easy way to deal with anger - at least for a bit. Just write down what you're feeling and SHRED it.

Researchers in Japan did an interesting study. They had students submit their opinions on different things, including social issues. Like, should smoking in public be allowed? They were told that experts would evaluate their opinions and get back to them.

But they all just got the same response, which was just designed to make them mad. No matter what the students wrote, they got back: "I cannot believe an educated person would think like this. I hope this person learns something while at the university."

After seeing the response, the students were asked to write about how it made them feel. They told some of the students to hang onto the paper, while others were told to toss or shred it. But they had to rate how angry they felt before and after they did either.

The study found just writing about their feelings actually did help a little. But shredding the paper? It made a MUCH bigger difference. The students who shredded the paper basically felt no anger at all.

So the old trick of writing it down helps. But definitely shred it. Or - I'll bet using it as toilet paper might work too.
