It's a debate that has gone on for a while, but when you buy new clothes, to you wash them before wearing them, yes or no? On The Mike & Carla Morning Show, Mike O'Brian says it "depends" and Carla Rea says all the time.

To go along with that, most people do wash new clothes before wearing them out. And with that said, it just happens to be for different reasons.

According to an article by Quora, they asked the same question and gave some good reasons for washing before wearing.

A couple of people mentioned the show "House", when one person almost died as a result of not washing new clothes before wearing.

New Clothes: Do You Wash Them Before Wearing Them

Considering how man people trying on clothes at a store, do we really know what we're getting into when we try something on? That seem to be the major reason for washing items before wearing. Not knowing who or what they might transmit to the material when trying on a pair of pants.

Others stated that they just want to wash the newness out of the shirt or the pair of pants. Get them to feel as comfortable as they can. Washing each item can actually do that for some.

However, one of our many regular callers, Jackie Vegas gave such a good reason that no one thought of. Especially if it is a certain color...in this case RED! A huge reason to wash it before wearing.

If you don't know the answer already, the dye from the clothing will come off. And depending on how it is and how much you sweat, you end up looking like a candy cane!

Once again, it's a personal choice evidently that given the choice, we wash before wearing. Take a couple of minutes, listen to the segment and enjoy!
