5 Delicious Tunes For The ‘Tacos And Tamales Festival’

All of us here at 96.3 KKLZ are looking forward to seeing you and your family at this weekend's "Tacos and Tamales Festival" at Desert Breeze Park. We are hoping you also enjoy five delicious tunes to take with you.

Before we get to the songs, let's quickly check out some of the details. You can still purchase your admission tickets online for just $5 bucks each (plus fees) by CLICKING HERE. You can tell this is a "family-friendly" festival because kids 11 and under, and folks 60+ are admitted free! If you don't purchase your tickets online, you'll have to pay $10 dollars at the gate (no cash accepted) for those aged 12-59.

What do you get for that admission fee? Live entertainment on stage throughout the festival, which lasts from 10am-10pm. You can also watch "Lucha Libre Wrestling" and browse works by local artists.

Of course, if you want to taste some of the delicious food from local vendors, you'll have to pay extra for those tacos, tamales, or both. These food trucks will be serving all sorts of delicious fare, from the traditional to the "totally insane!"

Bring some extra cash to give to your kids, who will love getting in on all the carnival rides. That'll keep them busy while you're enjoying the live music, browsing the art, munching on tacos or tamales, or just doing some people-watching on this warm spring day.

And, for those adults who love to sip on magnificent margaritas, tasty tequilas, or thirst-quenching craft beers, you can enjoy the "Alcohol Tasting Experience" for $25 bucks plus fees. You'll need to be 21+ to purchase tickets for this experience by CLICKING HERE.

All in all, it should be a fun day, with fabulous eats, awesome live entertainment, and fun for the entire family. Scroll down to check out five delicious tunes to take with you this weekend.

Celebration - Kool & The Gang

Bring the family out and enjoy this "Celebration" of food, music, and fun. This party anthem from Kool and the Gang describes the festive feeling of this great day at Desert Breeze Park.

Saturday In The Park - Chicago

Let's spend "Saturday In The Park" together. Sure, Chicago was referring to New York City on the 4th of July in this hit song from the 70s, but there's nothing better than enjoying a fun day like this in one of our city's biggest recreation areas.

Hot Hot Hot - Buster Poindexter

We were hoping for temperatures in the 70s or 80s for the "Tacos and Tamales Festival," but it looks like it is going to be a little warmer than that, with high temps in the low to mid-90s. This song from Buster Poindexter works two ways for this fiesta - warm temperatures and spicy food. It's gonna be "Hot Hot Hot!"

Tequila Sunrise - Eagles

If you enjoy partaking in some fabulous margaritas, tequilas, and craft beers, then you'll want to fork over a few extra bucks for the "Alcohol Tasting Experience." Then on Sunday, enjoy another "Tequila Sunrise" with the Eagles. Please drink responsibly.

"Everyday People" and "Dance To The Music" - Sly & The Family Stone

Not only will you be able to munch out on delicious tacos and tamales, you will also enjoy live entertainment on stage throughout the day. So go ahead and "Dance To The Music." A festival like this is also a great way to do some people-watching. Just a bunch of "Everyday People" getting together to have a good time. Enjoy!
