There are a lot of bars here, but if you want to visit the "oldest" bar in the Las Vegas area, it's still a hot spot for locals and tourists! Established in the early 1900s, The Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, Nevada is still a popular watering hole. If you're willing to take a break from the Las Vegas Strip and make the 30 minute drive out to Goodsprings, The Pioneer is a great place to escape and take in all the history.

This place is home for those weekend warriors on their Harley's, those that ride the quads on the trails surrounding Goodsprings and more. Established in 1913, the bar resides in a small town of about 200 people. In fact, 96.3 KKLZ once had Mike & Carla's World Famous "Jingle Bell Rock" hidden out there.

Fans Of The Oldest Bar In Southern Nevada Is Still A Hot Spot

Still serving up quite the menu of food and drink, often times you can even enjoy some "live" music. But after finding a comfortable table for you and your friends, the first thing you have to do is  walk around. Seeing the bullet holes still in the walls, reading the articles set in frames throughout the place and more. The creaks you hear when walking on the wood floors lends itself to the past this saloon has endured.

Every inch of this place has a bit of history attached to it. The story I find the most amazing is that this is the place where Clark Cable sat and awaited news on the fate of his wife Carole Lombard. Back in 1942, after taking off from Las Vegas, her plane crashed into Mount Potosi off in the distance. Lombard died along with 21 others.

Now the place has new owners and there have been a few changes. But according to an article in the Las Vegas Sun after the purchase, the new owners vow to keep the saloon's history alive. And boy, if the walls could talk. Nonetheless, any day of the week and even more on the weekends. Looking for the oldest bar in Southern Nevada, it's only a stone's throw outside of Las Vegas...enjoy!

Ranked: 9 Fun Dive Bars In Las Vegas You Have To Drink At

Dark, eerie and half way creepy is pretty normal when seeking out dive bars in Las Vegas. Creatures from all areas of town wobble their way in to get away from the loud chaos. Drinks are exceptionally cheap and the bartenders don't skimp on the alcohol pours. Many of the neighborhood bars have questionable bouncers outside that guard the door. ID checks are required but once you step inside you have entered a vortex in a new reality.

The dive bars in Vegas tend to have wobbly tables and dingy restrooms with stickers all over the walls. The light up beer signs and rows of alcohol bottles are typical bar décor. If you don't feel a little sticky then you're not in the right place. Some of these local hot spots have LIVE bands, karaoke, comedy shows and really fun theme nights. They also have weekly drink specials that you won't want to miss. $5 shots anyone? Don't hate on the bar food as some of these places serve up a quick plate to curve the hunger. Pizza, wings and cheeseburgers hit the spot after a late night of drinking.

The best part is that you meet the most interesting people with life stories that feel like they belong in a Lifetime movie. If you're into gambling some of the bars on this list feature video poker to kill some time. Tourists are welcomed but don't act out or you'll stand out. Parking tends to be available for most of these places but spots fill up fast. The DTLV dive bars most times charge for parking but the cheap drinks and fun atmosphere makes up for it.
