Enjoying Chicken Wings During The Big Game In Las Vegas Is Expensive

Without a doubt, I do enjoy sitting down to a nice, big platter of tangy, spicy, chicken wings while I’m watching a game. But did you know that Las Vegas…

Without a doubt, I do enjoy sitting down to a nice, big platter of tangy, spicy, chicken wings while I’m watching a game. But did you know that Las Vegas is now serving up some of the most expensive chicken wings in the nation? It’s true, according to the sports team at Betway who are checking out the data.

Las Vegas Ranks In Top 3 For Most Expensive Chicken Wings In U.S.

In a city once known for its humongous and inexpensive buffets, Las Vegas has certainly become an expensive, but popular, foodie destination. For example, I’m sure all those celebrity chefs who have opened restaurants along the Las Vegas Strip are popular. But diners pay a high price for enjoying those celebrity dishes.

So, it stands to reason that even when you’re dining off the Strip, the prices get higher at your favorite restaurants and hangouts. Even when you order take-out, I’m sure you are noticing higher prices for your favorite snack foods than ever before. The US.Betway.com article by the Betway Insider shows Las Vegas delivering some of the most expensive chicken wings.

On average, six wings in Sin City are going to run you $13.16. That price ranks third in the U.S. based on the 50 cities Betway surveyed. The cities where one of America’s favorite snack foods is more expensive? They’re both in Texas. Austin takes the crown averaging $18.96 for a half dozen spicy morsels. Almost $19 bucks for six wings! The city’s slogan of “Keep Austin Weird” may also apply to expensive. By the way, El Paso edges Las Vegas out for second place at $13.63 for six wings.

Of course, just because Las Vegas serves expensive chicken wings doesn’t mean we’re going to stop enjoying them. So, a quick internet search shows 10 inexpensive places to order this popular snack food. Yelp.com lists 702 Wing Spot on West Charleston, VooDoo Wing Co. on West Cheyenne, and Them Wings. They have locations on East Cheyenne in North Las Vegas, and South Eastern Avenue in Henderson.

As an illustration, prices for chicken wings at these three particular restaurants range from $7.49 for six wings to $13.99 for 10 wings. Munch on, my friend!

Best Off The Las Vegas Strip Comfort Food For Losers Of Any Big Game

The Super Bowl teams are officially set, and the game is around the corner for Las Vegas.

Sports books are coming up with their odds, and prop bets. The field is getting a mani pedi. And there will be one big winner - and one big loser. And I don't mean Taylor and Travis.

When Your Team Loses You Need Comforting Food

My team was eliminated in the playoffs, sadly. What did I do? I ate and drank - to celebrate my losing team going as far as they did. But where do Las Vegas Locals go for loser comfort food?

Las Vegas is a great place to celebrate, and eat and drink, as a winner. But it's also a great place to celebrate your loss with food, and drink. Being Italian, we celebrate anything or nothing with food, so who am I really kidding here?

With my team out - although usually much earlier than this - I decided to let you losers in on some great places in Las Vegas to celebrate you losing team. Everyone is going to lose at some point, so you might as well enjoy eating, and drowning your sorrows away. Especially in Las Vegas.

There Is All Sorts Of Comfort Food In Las Vegas

There's your standard comfort food. With all that good starch, and fat, to knock you out and make you forget that your team went down in flames. There's healthy food, so you don't feel as guilty chowing down. There are different nationalities of food. Italian, Mexican, Greek, Indian, Thai. There are also different times of the day to indulge your sorrows: breakfast, lunch, dinner - or4th meal late night snack.

I'm hoping this short list is helpful for all the losers out there - or soon to be losers - in Las Vegas. Eventually every team, even yours, is going to lose at some point. So be prepared, with some great off the Las Vegas strip loser food options in the Super Bowl LVIII host city.

Fukuburger

Originally just a food truck. Fukuburger burgers were - and still are - amazing! They are brick and mortar now. They top American burgers with Asian style toppings. And Las Vegas loves it! I love their Chicken Katsu sandwich: Panko crusted chicken with shredded cabbage, their "crack sauce" and katsu sauce. Great for a big loss.

The Bagel Cafe

Located in Summerlin, The Bagel Cafe opened in 1996. Their food is big, fresh, and amazingly good! New Yorkers say their bagels are a taste of home. And call me old fashioned, but their chicken salad, and egg salad are the best - next to my moms. Get either one on one of their bagels, and I promise you won't have to eat for the rest of the day. Stuffed cabbage, roast chicken, knockwurst - their menu will take care of every loser craving - and make you feel like a winner!

Roma Deli II

Roma Deli is what I ate when my team blew it. Yes the Detroit Lions loss led me to the best Margherita pizza, and Penne Aglio Olio. Their portions are huge, so you will almost always leave with leftovers for the next day. I've been eating at Roma for years. It's the closest to the way my Italian family cooked, and the place itself is so authentically 'Italy.' Reminds me of being in a restaurant in Italy - understated, but so much personality!  So many favorites, and all from scratch. And a great,  unique wine selection. Try the Pasta e Fagioli, and the Pollo Milanese. Or ANYTHING for that matter. You will feel like a winner again!

Hash House A Go Go

Great loser comfort food at Hash House. And very LARGE portions. They call it 'Twisted Farm food.' Breakfast is outrageously good, but make sure you come hungry! Their sage fried chicken is so flavorful, and crispy. And it's paired up with almost everything, and anything. French toast dipped in banana cinnamon cream with candied pecans, grilled bananas, and syrup - YUM! The sage fried chicken and waffles is the popular go to. Order it - and then be prepared to be stuffed full, and basically waddle out of the restaurant. There are several locations. The below location is the original. Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Carson Kitchen

Go downtown in Las Vegas, and try the Carson Kitchen - it is a must visit. And don't think about calories, just think about uniquely good food. One of their most popular items - Crispy chicken skins. They are out of this freaking world! Chicken thighs, pork porterhouse, baked mac and cheese, short rib flatbread - it's very original - winning - comfort food. Definitely compliment the chef at Carson Kitchen, because their food is definitely WINNING!

Snooze AM Eatery

New to Las Vegas, Snooze AM Eatery is really cool. Very vintage L.A. feel, and there are healthier options, if you're wanting a healthy breakfast, or lunch. They have a plant powered menu- and then all the other good stuff as well. And they feature a pancake of the week, each week. Or you can try a Signature pancake flight: Pineapple Upside Down, Blueberry Danish and Sweet Potato pancakes. Their French toast is made of fresh brioche, and stuffed with house-made mascarpone, then  topped with vanilla crème, caramel, fresh strawberries and toasted coconut. It is something from another planet - so damn good! It will help a lot when you drown you loser sorrows.

Heart Attack Grill

I was told by a loser (Baltimore Ravens) friend, that I HAD to include this place. Yes, the HEART ATTACK GRILL, where they encourage you to gain all the weight you want. The Single Bypass Burger offers up 5 slices of bacon. The Octuple Bypass Burger has 40 slices of bacon - so here's that. If nothing else, the place is entertaining! When you enter they put a hospital gown on you, and if you weight over 350 lbs they feed you for free. Yikes! But - their burger are very good. Get one, and split it. An know going in, there is nothing "light" at this place - AT ALL.  Not even a light beer. And there is a sign that reads: Cash only because you may die before check clears. So if you really want to eat your loser roubles away - well...
