Not sure why, but this turned into a hot topic on The Mike & Carla Morning Show this morning. With the two cent increase, you can imagine, the general public is NOT happy about this.
However, according to a recent survey where the results were put out by YouGov, 14% of those surveyed didn't know how much a stamp costs now! Despite the fact that people are upset about the increase in price, they don't even know how much they are now! Well, if you don't know, a regular stamp will cost you 66 cents. Unless you bought those "Forever" stamps a couple of years ago...which are still good!
The Post Office Is Increasing The Price Of A Stamp!
So, prepare yourself for stamps to go to 68 cents later this month...but it's still a deal right? To slap on a stamp to an envelope, then have someone make sure it gets to it's destination across the country! But the other question really was, what did a stamp cost you when you were a kid?
Carla Rea thought it was about 20 cents or so...Mike O'Brian, being a bit older, remembers stamps for about a nickel! How many others remember those days...and keep in mind you had to lick the back of them too!
One guy related his "stamp" story back to boot camp in the early 70s. They cost about eight cents to write back home. On the other hand, mail a letter? When's the last time you actually mailed a letter? But we did find out that despite the internet, there are still a lot of people who use stamps. Not too sure about how many "collect" stamps.
Well, whatever your thought is, listen to the segment, but be ready for the increase later this month!
14 Places Just Labeled Better Than Vegas To Propose In
Las Vegas is a great place to make a marriage proposal. But one list is suggesting there are 14 places that are even better!
Say it isn't so! Our sweet Las Vegas is on the top of almost every list when it comes to getting married. But it turns out we're not quite so popular when it comes to getting engaged. What? With the Paris Hotel, the Bellagio Fountains, even the beautiful landscape of Valley of Fire. How can there possibly be any place more worthy of a marriage proposal?
Well, turns out there are a lot of places more worthy of getting down on one knee. At least according to a recent study by glamira.com. Experts in customized jewelry, Glamira does a lot of business with people who are planning to propose. So they know a thing or two about the art of getting engaged.
For the study, Glamira analyzed a list of 134 romantic places in the world. Then they looked for hashtags of those places listed on both Instagram and TikTok. To see which places were the location of the most marriage proposals.
Now, if you live and breathe Las Vegas, it's probably hard to imagine we are not even in the top five. Let alone barely making the top 15. However, there are a handful of places on this list that will make you think oh...yeah that's valid. Others, though, are places you might not have even considered when it comes to popping the question.
Las Vegas landed at number 14 on the list of Most Romantic Places In The World To Propose, According To Social Media. And we barely beat out Los Angeles, who came in at number 15 with just 12 fewer hashtags than we had. Numbers 13 through 11, respectively, were Cappadocia (Turkey), Cancun (Mexico) and Charleston (South Carolina).
Here are the places that landed in the top 10. -Wendy Rush
10. Venice, Italy

Grand Canal in Venice
A city so lovely, we designed an entire casino resort after it. One of two Roman cities on this list, Venice has a lot of beautiful landscapes to make the perfect backdrop for a proposal. It landed at number ten with 3,067 social media mentions.
9. Central Park, New York

Central Park in spring
Central Park is a wonder in and of itself. It's a giant park in the middle of the most expensive real estate in the country. But that's not all that makes it special. With its seasonal colors, The Pond, and the charming park benches, it's no surprise so many people propose here. Central Park came in at number nine on the list, with 3,712 hashtag mentions on social media.
8. Rome, Italy

Rome, Italy
Rome has long been considered as one of the most romantic cities on the planet. With its charming cobblestone and historic fountains, there are plenty of places to propose. And at least 4,647 posts about just that were found on social media. Making Rome number eight on this list.
7. Disneyland

Disneyland
Whether it be Disneyland in California, Paris, Tokyo or elsewhere, the Happiest Place on Earth is a popular spot to pop the question. The Disneyland hashtag showed up in 4,825 proposal-related posts on social media. Making it number seven on the list.

Another city with a ton of landmark options for proposals is London. The Eye of London, Buckingham Palace, or just the beautiful English countryside. All stellar options for a proposal backdrop. London's number six spot came with 5,367 social media mentions.

Hawaii is another place you would expect to be on a list of best proposal places. And it's not hard to see why. Maui came in at number five on this list with 5,841 hashtag mentions.
4. Santorini (Greece)

When it comes to reasons why Santorini might come in at number four on the list of best places to propose, I think this picture says it all. Santorini racked up 6,235 mentions on Instagram and TikTok.
3. Sydney, Australia

Sydney is another beautiful place to propose. Especially if you hire a guy with an Australia accent to do the proposing. Kidding. But seriously, Sydney had 6,740 hashtag mentions in the social media study. Landing them at number three.
2. Bali (Indonesia)

Bali is easily one of the most beautiful places in the world. With the beaches, the waterfalls and so much green, it's not shocking that it landed at number two on the list. With 8,317 social media mentions.
