Paula Abdul Went Straight Up Mad On Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune

Fans of Wheel of Fortune love it when the popular game show does their celebrity episodes. Because it's always fun to see our screen heroes go off-script and, sometimes, a little off-kilter. Which was the case when Paula Abdul was invited to play the game earlier this month.

The episode featuring the Straight Up singer aired on Wednesday, December 13. The puzzle that stumped her was one in the Before and After category. Which puts two phrases together, linked by a common word. Which appears as the last word of the first phrase and the first word of the second phrase. In this case, the puzzle was The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Sweater. Abdul was able to get the first phrase, but got stuck on what the last word was.

Host Pat Sajak and fellow contestants showed to be rather amused at how frazzled Abdul seemed. First trying to solve the puzzle and then realizing she should spin instead. And when she did try to get the full puzzle out, she let out a frustrating scream rather than the last word. And, of course, Sajak had his hallmark quippy response to that.

Nobody can blame Paula Abdul for being frustrated. It's not her money she's about to lose. Celebrities always play for a charity. For this episode, Abdul chose one that benefits women and children battling cancer. So winning money for the good cause is a good reason to want to win.

But win or lose, fans of Abdul got another glimpse of just how charming the singer is, win or lose. Check out the video below of her trying to solve the puzzle.

Andy Cohen, host of  "Watch What Happens Live" says that hosting Wheel of Fortune would be his dream job!

Andy Cohen is undoubtedly one of the best in the business when it comes to hosting.  He’s engaging, and very funny as a host, and he's also a savvy producer.

In an interview with Us Weekly, Christina Garibaldi asked Andy to confirm a story she’d heard: “If you would ever take Pat Sajak’s place on Wheel of Fortune?” “Dream job,” Andy replied, very enthusiastically. He'd love it! He went on to say,  "That would be incredible. Not only is a game show the thing that I haven’t done yet, but that is the premiere game show. It’s really fun.”

When Cohen was asked who else might be good for the position, he thought and said, “I don’t know, let’s keep talking about me.”

Pat Sajak, the long-time host of Wheel Of Fortune, announced last month that he planned to retire after the current season - season 41 - wraps up filming.  News of the legendary game show host's retirement immediately started the "who could take is place" questions.

Andy Cohen began his career in television as an intern at CBS News. He spent 10 years at CBS, eventually serving as senior producer of The Early Show, a producer for 48 Hours, and a producer for CBS This Morning He joined the television network Trio in 2000, later becoming vice president of original programming at Bravo in 2004, when the network purchased Trio.

Cohen was a regular on Today and Morning Joe, and has co-hosted Live! with Kelly, and The View. He has made various guest appearances on other talk shows. He has made several guest appearances on television shows playing himself, such as The Comeback and Saturday Night Live.

In 2009, Cohen began hosting the weekly midnight television talk show, Watch What Happens Live. The show was later became a weeknight series.

Andy Cohen may have never hosted a game show, as of yet, but here  several other game show hosts who weren't originally game show hosts.

Actor, Comedian Drew Carey took over hosting duties on The Price is Right, from Bob Barker, and he's been very successful at it!
