Tennessee Police Arrest 10 For Selling Laughing Gas Balloons
Getting a high with drugs is obviously not the way you want to go, so people are always looking to alternate ways to get that high. One way is with nitrous oxide…laughing gas.
Don’t Pop That Balloon
In Nashville, Tennessee, police arrested ten people for selling and buying balloons, according to WHIO-TV 7. These aren’t just ordinary balloons you would buy for your kid. These balloons were filled with nitrous oxide, better known as laughing gas.
According to WHIO-TV 7, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department arrested nine people. The nine people were caught with possession of the balloons and also selling it for the intent of being inhaled to get a high.
What You Got There?
Two people, Rhonda Cain and Raasheem Queen both were seen in downtown Nashville around 11:30 pm at night. They were seen filling up ordinary balloons from canisters that were labeled “Nitrous Oxide,” according to WSM-TV. The two were then turning around and selling the balloons to people, so they could inhale the laughing gas from the balloons. While the police were arresting them, Raasheem Queen got away. He was later caught and arrested.
There’s More Where That Came From
After both Cain and Queen were arrested, they found one other person walking around doing the same thing, KIRO-7 reported as well. The police immediately arrested Marquael Clinger as he was walking around with inflated balloons with laughing gas. Clinger was seen handing balloons off to another person as he was caught.
According to the WSM-TV, Clingner admitted that the balloons were in fact filled with nitrous oxide. He planned to use them to get high later.
The police also arrested the person who bought the balloons from Clingner. His name was Mervin Brown according to the report.
Overall, the police recovered two whole canisters labeled “nitrous oxide” and a bunch of balloons. They also found a bunch of cash with it, totaling about $520. We have more on this in today’s Other News.
