There's actually a reason this came up this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show. It came out that Tom Morello, of Rage Against the Machine, threw a big party for his mom who turned 100 years old.
Tom had enlisted Jack Black to play for his mom along with Jack's backup band. The band consisted of kids...kind of like the "School of Rock" type thing. Including Tom's kid who played with Jack Black. Since Morello's mom really liked Ozzy, Black and the band performed a cover of "Mr. Crowley".
Who Do You Have Perform At Your 100th Birthday Party?
That's when it turned into who would you want to play at YOUR 100th birthday? Needless to say, on The M&C Morning Show, it would have to be someone very young now right? When the question was posed to Carla Rea, she started thinking. All right, maybe someone like Taylor Swift, who would be in her 70s, 80s herself by then. Of course then you have the problem of people at the party, who are also in their late 90s celebrating wondering who this person is!
Let's think about this...if you had your choice, it couldn't be Mick Jagger or even Paul McCartney. Maybe, just maybe Billy Joel...Lady Gaga? The other factor that popped up, if Mike O'Brian is helping to plan this bash for Carla, he's 10-15 years older...uh, good luck Morty!
An interesting question this morning that got us thinking. Again, money is no object and you could have anyone there? We're sure the list would be long, but again, you have to remember, they still have to perform. Okay, maybe Keith Richards still might be able to pull it off! LOL!
Hey, listen to the segment yourself and then think about it yourself. Who would it be? Have to say, if Tom Morello got Jack Black to cover an Ozzy Osbourne song for his mom's 100th birthday, that's a pretty good start!
