If you or someone you know is in need of diapers for their little one, one local nonprofit is here to help.

Baby's Bounty is the only consistent resource for free diapers in Nevada. And throughout the month of October the organization will be hosting diaper banks across the state. During the month there will be several locations where families can get supplies. Including a week's worth of free diapers and wipes for up to three children.

Baby's Bounty began in 2008 by Kim Amato, who was inspired after seeing the impact on families that homelessness had. Through her investigating this further, Amato discovered something she found unacceptable. That families in Nevada were often being discharged after a birth without proper supplies. Including diapers, clothes, cribs, even a car seat.

Today, Baby's Bounty's mission is to empower and support at-risk families in need. They do this by providing these resources as well as education for families. Including Safe Sleep and Baby Basics classes. They are home to programs like Diapers for Diplomas, which gives parents in college the opportunity to win free diapering supplies for a year. Baby's Bounty also provides Baby Bundles to the community. They include a portable crib, car seat, a bathtub, towels, receiving blanket and more.

You can get free diapers at one of the organization's diaper banks in one of these Nevada locations:

Henderson - Wednesday, October 4th: 9am-12pm at Morrell Park, 500 Harris St.

Las Vegas - Tuesday, October 10th: 10am-1pm at Mexican Consulate, 823 S 6th St. & Wednesday, October 18th: 9am-noon at 3400 W. Desert Inn Rd, Ste 8.

North Las Vegas – Wednesday, October 11th: 9am-noon at 2420 N Martin Luther King Blvd.

Pahrump – Friday, October 13th: 10am-12pm at Salvation Army, 240 Dahlia St.

Mesquite – Friday, October 27th: 10am-12pm at Salvation Army Mesquite – 742 W Pioneer Blvd.

There will also be a bank in Reno on October 25th. Some of these locations require registration, including Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. For more information and to learn how to receive services, visit BabysBounty.org.

Mistakes Parents Make Getting Kids Ready For School

Kids are headed back to school and here are a few mistakes parents make getting kids ready for school! Nothing serious, but everyone's routine changes at this time and The Mike & Carla Morning Show thought we should pass these along.

According to a recent article published by SWNS Digital, these are simple mistakes made by parents as they get their kids ready for that first day. Especially if the family has more than one kid heading out the door. For example, getting the backpacks mixed up. As we said, these are not huge mistakes, but they happen. Getting backpacks mixed up and the kids heading out the door with the wrong one is very possible.

Mistakes Made On The First Day of School!

There's a lot going on in the morning, getting out of bed, getting dressed, eating breakfast...mistakes are bound to happen. Another common mistake that happens is forgetting to pack the needed school materials needed for that day. Hey, you know mom and dad have a lot going on as well!

In fact, when it comes to a little "me" time, parents only get on average about one hour and sixteen minutes. Teachers, on the other hand, a few minutes less, but it's always at the end of the day.
