It's been a while, but Ann Wilson has released a new single. It's from her forth coming solo album due out in just a couple of weeks. Wilson is backed up by her new band "Tripsitter". The Mike & Carla Morning Show featured a sample of the song titled "This is Now" this morning.

Ann also plans to air "Ann Wilson and Tripsitter: LIVE in Concert" on PBS television stations nationwide on November 24th. It will be another way to see the Wilson sister belt out her hard rock voice in concert. It seemed that she had drifted away from the band Heart, who she started with her sister Nancy as far back as the early 70s. However, there had been rumors of the sisters being estranged and not talking.

Heart's Ann Wilson set to release new solo album

According to an article in Guitarworld as recently as last year, that seems to be a "myth".  In the article, Ann actually states, "...Nancy and I are okay with each other". It seems the problem is they each have their own definition of what Heart should be and the direction it should take as a band.

Each of the sisters have released solo work since and are reportedly doing fine. But fans would still love to see the two back together on the same stage performing as they have for over 50 years. Ann is currently on tour right now though, but Las Vegas is NOT on the schedule. In fact, the closest she gets to our fair city is Mesa, Arizona on October 3rd.

So unless something changes, you're going to have to hit the road and see her somewhere else. But, her new solo album is titled "Another Door" and that will drop on September 29. It's quite the album and fans will not be disappointed with her voice still in fine shape and ready to rock!
