Duck Donuts Las Vegas Lets You Customize Your Donuts

You're on the Las Vegas strip, you've been up all night having fun, and now - you just want a donut. But where?

They're here - Duck Donuts has opened in Las Vegas, right in front on The Horseshoe (formerly Bally's). They have locations in California, but this is their first location in Las Vegas. It's actually, their first location in Nevada.

You can't really find donuts on the strip these days Krispy Kreme doesn't really have a presence on the LV strip anymore, and Dunkin doesn't really count, because they focus a lot more on coffee.

Donuts are a quick, and oh so yummy, treat! And it's easy to walk and eat donuts, especially on your way to the next show, or venue on the strip- that you swore was SO much closer than it seemed when we started walking.

It's a really cool concept, and very simple: Duck Donuts is a "choose your own topping" donut shop. They don't just sit in a window all day, and then you point to one.

It starts with their cake donut, then you take it from there, and pick your coating or icing, topping and drizzle.

Coatings and icings include the basics, like chocolate, and glazed. But there's also blueberry, peanut butter, and more.

Toppings? How about some fun sprinkles, or graham cracker crumbs - or chopped bacon?

Now the drizzle. Hot fudge? Raspberry? Salted Caramel? Or, you can choose from their coatings. It's really all up to you.

Duck Donuts has a menu of hot donut breakfast sandwiches, that you can customize as well. Pick your protein(s), then add drizzle, and toppings.

They also have other goodies, like ice cream, and yes - they do have coffee.

I have a family member who has a beach house in Duck, North Carolina, on the Outer Banks. It's a beautiful area on the Atlantic coast, and that is exactly where Duck Donuts started.

Giving you a "Few Things We Think You Should Know" this morning...a recent poll has ranked the "classic donuts," from best to worst. The donut addicts at Thrillist.com have ranked 24 "classic donuts" from best to worst . . . and spoiler alert:  If you're a cinnamon bun fan, get ready for a FIGHT. You have to admit that we all have our favorites and sometimes we might be the only one that like this donut or that donut for whatever reason.

Some of the donuts that made the list outside of the Top 11, for example, the Blueberry Cake...which to us is very underrated! On the flipside, the Chocolate Cake donut is another that is way at the bottom of the list for some reason...guessing it's all based on presentation!

When you think donuts, a lot of times you don't even think of Las Vegas as having some great places to find that early morning delicacy...but we actually do! Dee's Donuts on N. Durango is famous for baking the delectable pastries early each morning. Have you ever stopped into Wicked Donuts on W. Lake Mead? Another great place to stop before heading into work to surprise your co-workers. And of course if you've been in Las Vegas for any length of time, Ronald's Donuts on W. Spring Mtn. Road is a classic place for your favorite round cakes!

Of course Pinkbox Donuts has made it's way to Las Vegas, as well as Randy's Donuts and The Donut Bar to add to the long list of great places here in Las Vegas!

Is it a real donut if there is no "hole"? Maybe that's why this one comes in at #11!

Talking about not having a "hole", but this one is a fan favorite which puts it in the Top 10 on the list of Tasty Donuts!

Blueberries with anything basically makes it better and donuts are no exception...comes in at #9!

I've always heard that crumb cake goes well with a cup of coffee, so why not make it into a donut? And so it comes in at #8 on the list!

Probably one of the more common known donuts on the list, but good enough to come in at #7!

Okay, should these even be on the list since it's only the "hole"? Well, it is and it comes in at #6...go figure!

This is not only considered a donut, but to some its an entire meal! Making the list at #5 the HUGE Apple Fritter!

Now we're getting into the good stuff...anytime you have "jelly" on or in a donut that's a WINNER at #4!

This is where it all began...the "Old Fashion"! Fried dough with the ridges...making it on the list at #3!

Say what you will, they are basic, but anything with sprinkles on them make these donuts just fun to eat! That's why we think they are #2 on the list!

Sometimes it pays just to keep it simple...it's round, has a hole in it with a little glaze on it and guess what? Folks that enjoy a morning donut put this at the top of the list when it comes to Tasty Donuts!
