Does Your Fast-Food Meal Ever Look Like The Advertising?
When was the last time you enjoyed a meal from a fast-food restaurant that looked as good as the advertising? I don’t think that has ever happened in the history of the world. As much as some restaurants get close, on average, fast food advertising does not usually match the meal you receive. With this in mind, a man in New York is suing a fast-food chain for this very reason.
New York Man Sues Taco Bell For False Fast-Food Advertising
All things considered, I guess this was bound to happen sooner or later. A man in the state of New York is suing fast-food giant Taco Bell. According to an article by Jonathan Stempel on Reuters.com, Frank Siragusa is taking his case to federal court. Apparently, he and his lawyers are making it a class action lawsuit. So, if you feel as he does, you may want to get it on this.
However, you should know that Siragusa’s lawyers have filed similar lawsuits recently. For example, one lawyer filed a lawsuit in the same Brooklyn, New York federal court over the actual versus advertised sizes of the burgers at McDonald’s and Wendy’s. That lawsuit is still pending. This guy’s other lawyer filed a similar suit in Florida against Burger King. That case went to mediation and ended in an impasse.

Taco Bell Menu Items Involved In This Lawsuit
Siragusa is claiming that the fast-food advertising which shows pictures of various menu items misleads customers. He says Taco Bell’s ad photos of the “Mexican Pizza, Veggie Mexican Pizza, Crunchwrap Supreme, Grande Crunchwrap and Vegan Crunchwrap as containing ‘at least double’ their actual content.” He is seeking $5 million dollars for all Taco Bell customers who ordered any of those five items in New York State over the past three years. Good luck, dude!
Is anything we purchase as good as the advertising claims? For example, I worked at McDonald’s when I was in high school. All of the people working there tried to deliver as fine a product as possible. However, it would take an hour to make one Big Mac if we tried to make it look as pretty as the advertising photo. Then, once it hits the cardboard box and moves around, who knows what happens to it.
To sum up, I guess we should expect more from those who advertise their products. The content of the food we eat should be as close as possible to the advertising. So, I really can’t blame Siragusa. But, in my opinion, nothing ever looks as good as the advertising.
