With as big as the "Barbie" movie is, women are "dressing" up in pink and going in groups...again! But are YOU still dressing up for movies, parties and more? That's what The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know this morning. Even The Renaissance Fair came up as something people dress up for. It happens in early October at Sunset Park...for three full days people put on the garb and celebrate.
It's the celebration of the Middle Ages...and with all the fun we remember from that era. Jousting, the food, and much more is featured every year. But it's the costumes and the persona everyone that dresses up takes with them to The Ren Fair that is truly amazing.
So are YOU that person that still dresses up in costumes?
So are you that person that still dresses up? For movies, like the new "Barbie" movie where men and women seem to be dressing up. All in pink from head to toe and we mean from "head to toe"! You have women wearing pink wigs to top off their outfits. Another movie that came to mind was "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Along with dressing up came the bringing of toast and rice to the theater!
Themed wedding was another example of how people are still dressing up. One listener texted in having been invited to a "Nerd" themed wedding. He dressed the part and actually had a great time. On the other hand, both Mike O'Brian and Carla Rea, not so much for the "dressing" up! Hey, we barely dress up for work, but that's just us!
One woman claimed that her husband actually works on his costume for an entire year for "Wasteland" weekend! And every year when asked if she would like to go, her response is, "...no babe, you go have fun, you go party!"

We all think how cute it might be for everyone else to see a little Weiner dog. Outfitted in a "bun" with fake ketchup and mustard. But does the dog really appreciate the "cuteness"? As you look at different pictures of pets dressed on Halloween, we get the sense that the owners might be more into it than the animals themselves.

Think about it, they really can't hold the trick-or-treat bag or they can't even say "trick-or-treat" when they get to the door...so why? Some of the more popular costumes for pets seem to be the obvious, doctor outfit, or the chef costume complete with the chef's hat!
Not sure what kind of pet you have or even if you are thinking of dressing it up this season. However, if you are, there seems to be a lot of costumes to choose from! A lot of pet owners are quick just to buy a costume for their dog, cat, or even their guinea pig. Of course, many owners will be adventurous and try to make the costume themselves.
