Why We All Want Shopping Malls To Come Back

Remember when going to the mall was the best possible way to spend a Saturday? Then you need to know that over half of us want malls to make a comeback! On The Mike & Carla Morning Show this morning, that's the topic that came up and all those "mall" flashbacks!

According to the results of a study published by IPX, half of us actually miss going to the mall! Over 60% of us are hoping that these huge shopping malls of the past would make a comeback! And who do you think wants them back the most? The study shows that Gen Zers were the ones that want them back the most!

Why do we want to see shopping malls comeback?

With that said, there are a few things we miss with most shopping malls being a thing of the past. It's nice having all these stores under one roof, doing a little window shopping or most importantly, THE FOOD COURT!

Shopping Mall food courts were the best. Hot Dog On A Stick, Orange Julius, Sbarro and so many more! It was the best place to grab a bite and just hang with friends! How many times did we just ask our parents to drop us off or, even better yet, "...you guys go that way, me and my friends are going to go this way!"

The other great things about a mall...the jobs! All the different stores you could work at and there were a few. Especially in the 80s...Chess King, Lerner's, Miller's Outpost and many more! The coolest thing about working at these stores were the employee discounts we would get! Even better yet, we could pass it on to our friends. Of course every mall had to have a movie theater. That was the ultimate place to work for a lot of us.

In Las Vegas, we still have the Fashion Show Mall, Boulevard Mall and The Galleria...but listen to the segment from this morning and see if you don't have a few "mall" flashbacks!
