Fire Hazard Furniture In Las Vegas

Just imagine that you’re chillin’ on your sofa at home. You’re streaming one of your favorite movies or shows. All of a sudden, your sofa catches on fire. How the heck did this happen? Where did you get this fire hazard furniture?

Evidently, this could happen to you and your family if you purchased certain furniture models from Ashley Furniture. They are recalling Party Time Power Loveseats, Sofas, and Recliners.

You see, these particular models have a cupholder which lights up with LEDs. The cupholder is actually the fire hazard because it can overheat and catch on fire. That information comes from an article on NewsNation.com written by Mac Bell.

Ashley Furniture and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have received six reports of fire and smoke damage. Thankfully, there have been no injuries reported.

Bell’s article goes on to report that the Party Time line of furniture was manufactured by Happy Smart Furnishings in China and Vietnam. Colia Leather in Cambodia finished the furniture in both white and black leather.

So, did you purchase Party Time Power Loveseats, Sofas, or Recliners in white or black leather between November 2018 and March 2023? Units sold for anywhere between $900-$1,800 dollars according to the NewsNation.com article.

All in all, the CPSC has listed 12 different model numbers as potential fire hazard furniture:

Loveseat model numbers: 3700318, 3700418, 3700318C and 3700418C

Sofa model numbers: 3700315, 3700415, 3700315C, and 3700415C

Recliner model numbers: 3700313, 3700413, 3700313C and 3700413C

Therefore, if you own any of the models listed above, you are urged to unplug your furniture immediately. You can then contact Ashley Furniture Industries for a free repair, per Bell’s article. Their phone number is: 866-482-2893.

If you are asked for a recall number, the CPSC says it is 23-215, according to NewsNation.com.

Ashley Furniture currently has more than 700 stores across the United States. There are four stores here in Southern Nevada. In Las Vegas at 6425 North Decatur Blvd., 91 South Martin Luther King Blvd., and 9200 West Sahara Ave. There is also a home store in Henderson at 661 Mall Ring Circle.
