Today is May 30th and it just happens to be the 40th anniversary of the US Festival! The final day of a 3 day music fest back in 1983 and paid for by Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple! The Mike & Carla Morning Show talked about the anniversary and had a few highlights!

If you can imagine, a 3 day music festival in Southern California featuring 3 different genres every day. There was a "New Wave Day", "Heavy Metal Day", and "Rock Day".  It was truly a celebration of art and music all in one place!

The US Festival Had Every Artist There!

The US Festival featured bands like INXS, The Clash, Van Halen, David Bowie and more! It was virtually a "who's who" of who was big in the early 80's!

Anybody who was big at that time performed at this festival and the ticket price was a little expensive for the time. A 3 day ticket would have run you about $37,50! That right, $37.50...single tickets were about $17.50.

Keep in mind that there were two US Festivals, one in 1982 and the one celebrating the 40th anniversary, back in 1983. It was incredible and thousand of people showed up. But as usual, Steve Wozniak lost a heck of a lot of money on both events.

However, for a guy like the "Woz", it was pretty much a drop in the bucket for him. And the reason his did it? Because he loved "live" music and just thought it was a great idea!

On a whim, The M&C Morning Show wanted to know how many people actually remembered the festival? Taking it one step further, was there anyone who actually went?

What are the chances that one listener called who not only was there, but worked security! His story was great and to relive those days was awesome! This guy had all the details! If you missed it this morning, hit play and enjoy!
