Johnny Depp just signed a $20 million, 3 year deal to be the face of Diro Sauvage cologne. So, what celebrities make you want to buy things? That's what The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know this morning. By the way, the Johnny Depp deal for $20 million, is record setting according to fragrance insiders! Sources say normally A+ celebrities only get about $2-4 4 million per deal.
Topping the list until now was Robert Pattinson's $12 million deal for Dior's Homme. Even Brad Pitt settled for $7 million to endorse Channel Number 5! The question is, why did Johnny Depp get so much? Is it that he is so attractive to consumers? Dior executives know that seeing Depp on the commercial with the product will make people want to buy it?
The M&C Morning Show brought this up just to find out the last thing you bought because of a celebrity. It turns out, from wine to pot, people do trust some celebrities. we come to find out with a "celebrity" endorsement, the product seems to move out the door faster.
What Celebrities Do You Actually Trust?
Carla Rea admitted to trusting "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston enough to buy Smart Water! Carla even bought into George Foreman's pitch on the Foreman Grill! On the other hand, so did a lot of people right. To be honest, we all do it, we just tend to be a bit more selective as we get older.
One guy talked about buying a bottle of wine endorsed by the lead singer of TOOL! And the guy admitted that he didn't even drink wine. But the bottle had Maynard James Keenan's autograph...and being a fan of the band, he just had to have it. Of course it turned into plain vinegar months after the purchase, but he still has the bottle.
It's all good stuff from this morning and if you have a couple of minutes, check out the segment from this morning...and enjoy!
