When going to the movies, it's a whole ordeal! The price of of the movie, plus the price of the snacks and drinks. It all adds up! A movie that was about $15 to $19 turns into $50 and up! Why? You need a drink and some sort of snack, whether it's popcorn or candy!
The popcorn is usually a deal if you buy the large, because most theaters offer free refills. But the candy, you're shelling out high prices for the name brand candies! Milk Duds, Twizzlers, Sour Patch Kids, and more! What usually costs about $3 at the store, will cost you about $8 or more at the theaters! That's how they make their money! But AMC Entertainment is about to change that! How?
AMC said that supply-chain issues last year has caused them to rethink how they can provide it's candy, without any problems. The solution...make their own candy! The movie chain has decided to make their own candy line, which will end up costing less for them, and in the end, costing less for you!
Since the pandemic, they noticed that these candy companies started charging more for the movie chain to stock and sell their products. Some candy companies raised the prices a whopping 33%!
AMC has already rolled out their own brand of popcorn, which you can only buy at Walmart locations at this moment. The two companies struck a deal for exclusives sales at Walmart locations. But that deal is coming to an end, and AMC is hoping to get their branded popcorn in all grocery stores! When this happens, they plan to roll out their branded candy as well!
So if you're planning to see a movie on the big screen, and you happen to be at an AMC theater, just know your movie experience may be a little cheaper soon!

7 Of The Best Candy Stores In Las Vegas
Today is National Chocolate Candy Day. Which is convenient timing since we all got some form of candy for Christmas. Well, today you can feel free to polish it off without guilt. And if it's already gone, go get some more!
Las Vegas has a lot of everything, it seems. And candy stores are no exception. Of course, we have to keep locals and tourists alike happy. And candy puts a smile on everyone's face. Can you imagine a world without candy? I don't want to. But it was reality for many people not that long ago.
Before the 1800s, chocolate was only consumed in liquid form. And even then mostly as a medicinal drink. It was a scientist who turned it into solid form. In 1828, a Dutch inventor named Coenraad Van Houten used a hydraulic press to remove cocoa butter from the cacao bean. Why there are no statues erected for the man who literally invented chocolate the way we love it today, is beyond me.
Van Houten paved the way for chocolate makers down the line to create confectionary masterpieces. In 1842, Whitman came out with their first box of chocolate. The first edible chocolate bar came soon after, in 1847, courtesy of J.S. Fry & Sons. It wasn't until 1875 that John Cadbury made his first chocolate egg. Rodolphe Lindt started making his delectable truffles in 1879.
And here's an interesting fact: the Hershey bar we all know and love was designed to be part of an emergency ration pack for U.S. soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day (nationalcalendarday.com).
Of course, there are people who prefer the non-chocolate type of candy (weirdos). So where do you go in Las Vegas for really really good candy, chocolate or otherwise? This list is a tasty place to start. - Wendy Rush
