Believe it or not our neighbors to the north in the Utah Department of Natural Resources says it's okay to eat BULLFROGS! For those that were wondering, it's okay, since they are an evasive species and can grow to be a pound and a half.
With that said, The Mike & Carla Morning Show once again wanted to find out the most exotic food you've ever had? It's no secret that both Mike and Carla have had cow tongue, but that's about where it stops. Morty on the other hand will try anything and has. Now whether he liked it or not is another question...including "fish eyes"!
So, that's what The M&C Morning Show wanted to know this morning. With all your travels, what is the most exotic food you've ever had? A lot of listeners, having traveled to Southeast Asia were quick to comment on this.
From Rocky Mountain Oysters to Escargot, in fact when it came to Escargot, Mike is a huge pass. Carla on the other hand, is ready to go! In the end, M&C covered it all this morning. Whether listeners liked any of this stuff is a different question.
One guy called in said while stationed in South Korea he found himself eating Squid Jerky! You have to hear how this guy describes how they prep it...not for the faint at heat. Good to know you can get it anywhere in South Korea.
It all depends on your personal taste on what you like and don't like. For example, Carla likes Clam Chowder, but doesn't like chewing on clams. For that reason, she puts them in her mouth and just sucks them down. Avoids savoring the flavor of the clam itself and moves on!
Maybe not the conversation you wanted to hear while eating breakfast this morning. But take a couple of minutes to listen and see if you don't agree on the foods that were mentioned!

7 Amazing Low Carb Restaurants In Las Vegas
January 5th is National Keto Day, and it got us to thinking, are there good restaurants in Las Vegas that offer keto-friendly or low carb menus? Turns out, the answer is yes. After all, we offer good everything when it comes to restaurants here in Sin City. We have some of the best chefs in the world, and they're not only found on the strip anymore.
But, first things first, what is keto? A ketogenic diet is one high in fats and low in carbohydrates. It's has a lot of parallels to other low carb diets, including Atkins. According to Healthline, the keto diet has some seriously amazing health benefits. Including lowering insulin and blood sugar levels. It does this by keeping your body in a metabolic state called ketosis.
Ketosis happens when the body has an excess of fats and and lack of carbs to burn. When it is in this state for a long period of time, the body gets really good at burning fat for fuel. Experts claim it also turns fat in the liver into ketones. Ketones are chemicals the body produces when it breaks down fat for energy. According to keto advocates, this transformation in the liver can help supply energy to the brain (healthline.com).
There are different versions of the keto diet. There's the standard one, that promotes a 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carbohydrate balance. Other variations, including the "cyclical" or "targeted" versions, allow more carbs at specific times in the diet. And the "high protein" version has a higher protein-to-fat ratio than the standard version.
Of course, keto diets aren't for everyone. But if they are for you, or you've been wanting to try it out, then you should know about places in Las Vegas that cater to this kind of eating. Just because you have a specific diet, doesn't mean you have to always cook at home. Here are our favorite keto and low-carb places in Las Vegas. –Wendy Rush
