There's Your Name, Then What Family Calls You

So there's your name, then what your family calls you! We all have names that everyone recognizes, but then there's that name only your family knows. The Mike & Carla Morning Show talked about it this morning and quite a few listeners can relate!

For example, Mike O'Brian said that most of his family knows him as "Mikey". Even at his age know, when he's around family, he's called "Mikey". Same for Carla Rea...except "Carly" was only reserved for her mom and dad.

So, that's what The M&C Morning Show wanted to know, what does your family call you? Good to know that there were a lot of listeners calling in and texting in with their stories. A lot of names came about just because younger siblings couldn't say their real name.

The guy who called about his cousin "Dud". He's real name was Ernie, but since the little one couldn't say "brother" instead they called him "dudder", the name "Dud" stuck. Poor guy! There were quite a few stories like that. Heck, we even found out why we call Morty "Morty". Not sure if you know, but that's NOT he's real name...not even a shorter version of his real name. His real name is Christopher, so how did he get "Morty". You have to listen to the entire segment to find that out.

Now when Bonnie called in to give us her story with her real name being "Bernadette", M&C quickly reminded her of the famous song as done by The Four Tops. She thought it was a lot better than "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean". Not to be out done, we actually found a new "Carla" song...and that you have to hear.
