21 Percent Of Us Are Using More Toilet Paper; See Why

A couple of years ago there was a rush on toilet paper during the Covid lockdown. Now that things are back to normal, maybe we should just be using less! According to a recent poll by YouGovAmerica, more and more of us are using more squares than every before.

It seems that 31% of us are using up to 5-8 squares after a visit to the bathroom to make sure we are all clean down there. 21% admitted to using even more than that. What happened to the rationing and being more coccineous and saving mentally we had during the lockdown?

Heck, 18% came clean, so to speak, to say that they use even more than 12 squares a wipe…it’s gotten out of hand! But where do we draw the line?  Only 9% step forward to say that they will only use 1-4 squares. If you think about it, there is a big difference between one and four.

So how much toilet paper  are you using right now? Some other facts that we see in this poll is that almost 45% of people will fold their squares before using. We didn’t realize there was a “proper” way to use squares from a roll. On the flipside, there’s only 22% that will wad up the paper to use.

If you are searching for even more bathroom facts, check this out, it seems women are more likely than men to go to a public restroom for reasons OTHER than using the toilet. Could be anything from touching up your appearance to just getting away from an uncomfortable situation. Women also tend to seek out the bathroom to have some “quiet time” or to even catch with the girls on the latest gossip!

And this is no surprise, men are more likely than women to leave the door open when going to the bathroom! Shocker right? It clearly comes down to a personal preference when you determined how much you use and how you use it…

What's The #1 Thing We Will 'Splurge' On

There are those things that we will pay a few extra bucks for and “splurge” on when shopping. It’s normally those things that we need or want and feel that it’s worth spending a few extra bucks on! Maybe they used to cheap out on it . . . but once we got a little taste of luxury, we can’t go back. Askredditt recently published a thread where people are talking about their splurges online, and the highlights include: gas, underwear, even eggs!

So, The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know what those items were that you would actually spend a few extra dollars on even though there’s a similar product right next to it in the store. Ironically enough, Carla Rea had mention “eggs” as one item she will spend a little more on than the average. No real reason as to why…maybe it’s the size, the texture, who knows, could be where the eggs are from for all we know, but it’s not unusual!

We all have our little things…or sometimes, huge items that for whatever our reason might be, even though we probably can’t afford it, we’ll find the extra dollars to buy it. Other items we tend to splurge on include: Cheese,  Coffee, even Garbage Bags!

But where do you draw the line? Even tools made the list of things that we splurge on, which if you think about it, makes sense especially if you are that kind of man or woman who is a “do it yourself’er” around the house!
